How to choose Lion's Mane in Ireland
There are a lot of Lion's Mane products for sale in Ireland, and the labels don't make it easy to compare them. These are the four things we'd check, on ours or anyone else's.
1. Which part of the mushroom?
Lion's Mane is sold as the fruiting body (the mushroom you can see) or as mycelium (the root-like threads it grows from). Both are real Lion's Mane, but they aren't the same ingredient, and mycelium is often grown on grain. The label should say which it is. Ours is made from the fruiting body. 2. How much is in the bottle, and how is it measured?
A big number on the front can mean fresh mushroom, dried mushroom or finished extract, and the three don't compare. Ask what the number is measuring, and what one day's amount works out at. Ours is the dried mushroom: each 30 ml bottle is made from 20,000 mg of dried Lion's Mane fruiting body, so the 1 ml a day on the label is made from about 667 mg of it.
3. Can you see the lab report?
A brand that has its product tested can show you the results. Ours is tested by J.S. Hamilton Poland, an independent lab, for heavy metals and microbes, and the full report is on the Lion's Mane drops page.
4. Who answers when you have a question?
Buying from Ireland means Irish delivery and someone you can reach. Orders before 2pm leave the same day and usually arrive the next day. If you have a question, Brian or Dean will answer it. You have 60 days to ask for your money back.
